Instructional Level

Introductory --- Designed for psychologists who may have little to no background in a specialized skill or content area. The learner can become acquainted with the theoretical underpinnings, principles, methods, and perspectives of a content area. Although it can be used as a foundation for more advanced learning, a program may simply focus on breadth, enrichment or general knowledge.

Course Description and Target Audience

This presentation will focus on the foundations of neuropsychological assessment as well as discuss several conditions related to the work I do in practice, specifically for aging populations. A focus on diversity concerns with aging population will be included. Case studies may be presented as a learning tool.

The utility for this presentation is strong. For interns and clinicians who refer to neuropsychologists for testing, the information presented will provide a foundation for what this type of assessment entails, as well as when to (and not to) refer out. For those who wish to become neuropsychologists, concerns related to diversity and real-life case examples may provide additional learning tools to serve as a foundation for their individual work in this field.

There are no known risks to this presentation.
