Intermediate --- Builds upon the learner's foundational knowledge, familiarity with the literature and/or experience in a content area. Programming at this level includes more depth than at a beginning level program. It could also serve as a refresher course for individuals who have background in a content area and are interested in learning more contemporary applications.
Course Description and Target Audience
The presentation will begin with an introduction to integrated health care (IHC), including the role of psychology across settings. The presentation will include introductory content on administrative, business, policy, and regulatory factors that dictate and impact psychologists in IHC. How psychologists operate within IHC to address the impact of illness on patients, their families, and school/work (re)integration will also be discussed. Target audience: Graduate students and early career psychologists who work in integrated care settings and/or coordinate care with physicians and other allied professionals.
Topic and materials are derived from empirically supported sources. Pros, cons, and limitations of Integrated Health Care will be presented. No identified risks.
Issues of diversity across multiple domains will be incorporated throughout the presentation's topics (e.g. relevance in business, SDOH, and direct care).
