Course Description and Target Audience

Adverse Childhood Experiences continue to show robust research in predicting both physical and mental health in adults. Participants will be exposed to what defines an Adverse Childhood Experience, as well how these experiences predict mental and physical health in adulthood. Furthermore, participants will be educated on potential biological and behavioral explanations for why ACEs predict health in adulthood. Finally, participants will learn strategies to prevent ACEs, as well as intervene when ACEs present. Experiences will include didactic education, case presentations, and role plays.
